My first visit to the International Triennale in Krakow was in 1994 . It was an overwhelming experience for me and since then I visit Krakow every 3 years to attend this outstanding printmaking event. I can only use superlatives when I try to describe my reflections about this happening. I met exceptional artists from all over the world, saw fascinating works, leading exhibitions and innovative trends and… made a lot of friends. Thanks for all that!

The Triennial of Krakow has maintained itself in terrible political situations by showing high quality and convincing concepts. So the event became the center not only of European print-exhibitions. Its future is challenged by deep changes in graphic art. If it finds the response, especially under the pressure of digitalism, in selecting the best in all technics, Krakow will remain the international center with one show of top prints and objects and an exciting program for artists and the public.

I first entered the International Print Biennial in Krakow in 1986 and have been a participant in this esteemed gathering of exceptional artists from around the world ever since.
With several travelling and satellite exhibitions as well as a progressive mandate to include new print technologies, the Triennial proves that the medium of print, from mezzotint to 3D fabrications and video screen applications, sits at the conceptual center of the current visual communication language of our time.
