A week ago, we received very sad news about the premature death of Chinese graphic artist HongQiang Bian. Bian was only 23 years old, but despite his young age, his works aroused the admiration of the international group of jurors choosing the works for the Main Exhibition of the International Print Triennial 2018 in Krakow. These extremely poetic stories were created with a great sense of form, and above all with exceptional sensitivity to the most important issues in recent times: geo-climatic transformations, conditions of coexistence of genres and possible consequences that Anthropocene will bring, which have transformed in the works of a Chinese artist into a fairy-tale metaphor. We regret to announce the death of an artist for whom – as Cui Xiaohua wrote – the Krakow Triennial was a great inspiration, as well as it was an honor for him to participate in the Main Exhibition..
