We would like to invite you to take a part in International Summer Courses Printmaking and Textile Art – PATA 2018 orginized by Strzemiński Academy of Art – Łódź
Ten courses will take place in two session:
I session – from 17 to 31 Julty 2018 (5. courses).
II session – from 6 to 18 August 2018 (5. courses).
For the sixth time the Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts Łódź and KAUS Urbino International Art Centre would like to cordially invite students, artists and art enthusiasts to participate in the International Summer Courses for Printmaking and Textile Art PATA. We’ve just started the application process for the event which for six years has attracted interest of participants from all over the world. The previous edition gathered almost 60 artists from such countries as Italy, Great Britain, Germany, Switzerland, Brazil, the USA and Argentina. This year for the first time all PATA courses will be run by academic teachers of the Łódź Academy.
What courses are included in this year’s edition?
Between the 17th and 31st of July 2018 course participants will have an opportunity to gain new experience on a course entitled Printmaking – Relief, Intaglio and Screen Printing Techniques run by Professor Sławomir Ćwiek, the head of the Mixed Techniques Studio. Professor Lidia Choczaj will introduce participants to experimental textile art and Professor Krystyna Czajkowska will acquaint them with issues connected with textile print. Due to the great interest in Professor Gabriel Kołat’s comics and film and game preproduction course and the course on typography and calligraphy run by dr hab. Łukasz Chmielewski, the head of the Typeface and Lettering Design Studio, both classes will be onceagain included in our offer.
The August session will be equally exciting and filled with creativity and artistic challenges.
The classes planned between the 6th and 18th of August include dr Katarzyna Wróblewska’s fashion accessories course and dr Agata Stępień’s course on creative experiments in the silkscreen technique. As always our offer will encompass courses in graphic design run by Prof. Sławomir Kosmynka, the Head of the Editorial and Digital Media Typography Design Studio. Participant will be introduced into the world of graphic diversity by dr Tomasz Matczak from the Lithography Techniques Studio.
A costume and stage design course run by dr Izabela Stronias, the Head of the Studio of Stage Costume is a new addition to our offer.
As every year, the International Summer Courses will be accompanied by exhibitions and lectures. The application deadline is June 30th, 2018.
