The exhibition will be the first such extensive exhibition in Krakow of the works of an outstanding representative of the Warsaw graphic environment, which in 1978 became the Grand Prix winner of the International Print Biennial in Krakow. Władysław Winiecki was the second Polish author after Roman Opałka, who was awarded the most important laurel of the Krakow event. Winiecki’s work is characterized by the multilevel nature of associations, the accumulation of characters, the compositional horror vacui and the perceptible spirit of metaphors, but also the irony that characterized the artist’s attitude. Looking at his graphics, we experience visual dizziness. Compositions created by him are full of movement, hustle and dynamics. It is impossible to keep up with the artist, unable to grasp this mess, the recipient is immediately drawn into a story that he does not want to leave too soon. The presentation of over 40 works created in the years 1960-2000 is a tribute to the great master
and an outstanding artist.
